About Us
Rockcliffe University Consortium is an online non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of education and science in 3d virtual environments. Our classrooms are virtual leveraging the best of both web 2.0 and 3d experiences. To visit our main 3d campus you need to have a free Second Life account. Free workshops and forums are provided on a regular basis as is live music, theatre, movies, a 3d art gallery, and a full academic research library.

This month’s guest is John Lester, more commonly known as Pathfinder Linden. This month we discuss the state of virtual collaborative environments, their positioning, market potential, strengths, weaknesses, and possible future 6 years on from the advent of Second Life. Subjects will include Second Life, Emerald, Unity 3D, pioneering work currently being done in virtual worlds and some of the social implications.

Second Life Communities Conference 2010
SLCC 2010 is in Boston on August 14-15. Catch the action by visiting the conference web site at http://www.slconvention.org/. Also in-world at the SLCC sims – just look for SLCC in the map or search engine once logged into SL.

The convention will also be streamed live on UStream (http://www.ustream.tv/slcc/v3). There are 6 different channels covering each of the presentation rooms so just search SLCC and you’ll find all 6 (SLCC, SLCC2, SLCC3, etc..). Presentations start at 8am and run to 5pm each day.
Virtual Worlds Best Practices in Education Conference 2010
VWBPE10 was held March 12-13, 2010 in Second Life. 2500+ Educators from around the world were in attendance for 175 presentations.
