You are invited to the celebration of Rockcliffe University’s 4th Anniversary. We’ve come a long way in four short years.

The excitement follows with a Keynote Address by our Dean and CEO of Rockcliffe, Phelan Corrimal (Kevin Feenan) at 11:30 AM.

Busking Bards and Jesters presents Impromptu theatre, an audience participation sketch, we may call for a revolt and storming of Phelans castle ( if he has one ). Sonicity Fitzroy will discuss her book “Second Life, Media and the Other Society” in a forum, with Q& A to follow a 25 minute presentation. Her book examines the societal impact and contribution of SL media makers to real world and virtual life culture and economy. Her presentation involve a mix of talk and media, and discussion. A small exhibit will highlight some of the book content.

This will be a full discussion on the security risks inherent to Second Life, it’s viewers, and the general populace. Included in this is Griefers, Media risks, newer in world viewer issues, and all other items. This will be a voice enabled discussion.

This presentation looks at some of the sweeping technological shifts over the previous 200 years, what constitutes those shifts as being changes in paradigm, and provides a possible look into why and when the next paradigm shift may occur based on the development of virtual reality inspired collaborative networks.

2:00-3:00 PM “Virtual ROI ( Training, Education & Business) – Where Are We?”
Virtual spaces offer businesses and education many avenues for implementation. This discussion will focus on how users can define return on investment and what administrators and managers are looking for when investing in new technology. The discussion will also include a brief presentation by the facilitator on traditional methods of assessing return on investment and the terminology that managers and administrators utilize when evaluating return on investment.

This roundtable will be a text and voice based discussion on the recent changes that have been happening around Second Life and Linden Lab over the past several weeks. We will be discussing the relevancy of the platform and whether or not the recent changes will actually help or hurt the environment.
